Cartsen a.k.a. ‘Soulshock’ is a hits man for Usher, Whitney Houston, 2pac, Backstreet Boys, Pitbull, Chris Brown, Brandy, JoJo and Sting. If you live in Denmark, he is highly recognized as one of the on-air judges on the Danish version of the popular American TV show, The X-Factor. The successful Danish music maker started out as an underground Hip Hop DJ in the late 1980s; competing in DMC contests, touring with and remixing songs for Golden Era-acts like Jungle Brothers, Queen Latifah and Chill Rob G, as well as making Denmark’s first English-language Hiphop-record ’Break The Limits’.

Soulshock is half of the producing team of Soulshock & Karlin, a duo of Danish record producers and songwriters. They have produced a large number of successful songs including Monica’s “Before You Walk out of My Life,” Whitney Houston’s “Heartbreak Hotel,” JoJo’s “Leave (Get Out)” and Fantasia’s “Truth Is.” In a reference to a famous commercial, Arena Magazine called the team “Probably the best R&B producers in the world” (March 2001). Soulshock & Karlin have written and produced hits for many artists such as Brandy, Usher, Monica, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Craig David and Sting in “Rise and Fall.” and 2Pac in “Do For Love,” “Me Against The World,” “I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto,” “Old School” and “Baby Don’t Cry.” Their remix credits include Usher’s “U Got It Bad,” and “Brokenhearted” by Brandy and Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men. Soulshock began his career as a hip-hop club DJ, spinning records in his bedroom.
